Tattoos and what they mean

Tattoos have held the attention of men for quite some time now. It has become a fashion for a man to sport a tattoo. With the growing demand for this item naturally a huge number of variations of the same have appeared in the market. Off the whole range that is available the ones that depict some intricate art and that is innate is the one that is more popular than other designs. Tattoo has today become an indication of a man’s identity and character. In the olden times when these aspects of the man used to be known by the actions of the individual, the same is now been replaced with these silent depictions upon the man’s self.

People today sport a tattoo even like the wedding ring to symbolise their marriage or the fact that as of now this one is a married guy. The primitive belief of a tattoo upon the husband and wife would serve as a means of identification of each other in the afterlife has taken life again. However, now it is to symbolise the glue that is supposed to be holding the couple in the present life rather than afterlife.

Once again one can draw a simile to the ancient practice of men putting on a tattoo to symbolise the pain that the boy could take while being tattooed as a symbol of his turning into man. Boys of eighteen these days fantasy the same ritual though they do undergo the tattoo under much more anesthetised circumstances, and in quite some cases a boy considers that he has become a man just because he can play some awesome solitaire!

Tattoos in historic and prehistoric times were also worn to be blessed with the powers of the animal that they had selected to safeguard them and whose iconic tattoo was sported by the man. Generations of today once again fantasy the powers from such animals to be coming into them with the tattoo they sport.
