When Things Go Wrong…
Some time ago, we’re talking months and months ago, the sound card on my computer stopped working. Nevermind, I thought, I will live. It isn’t like the sound card dictates the mood of my day. If it did I really would be in trouble…
A week later someone said “My God, you are in a foul mood.”
So, you could say I was wrong.
The truth was, I was angry and it was all my stupid sound card’s fault for not working. I had tried to fix it a few times but it never worked out, so after a few days I gave up trying and tried to get on with my life…
But there were so many ways I needed my sound back on my computer.
1) I missed the windows start-up music…that little do-do-do-doooo that got me off to a great start to the day.
2) No more Youtube fun! Without sound, the comedy in the videos was lost (the video about buttock surgery, which featured hilarious narration, wasn’t funny at all…)
3) No more Skype’ing people, damn it.
4) No more listening to music while at work…
It’s tragic, but so much can depend on such a small thing, and if that thing stops working it leaves you angry, bored and altogether impotent.
No man wants to be impotent. It’s just so destructive to the soul!
Thankfully my sound card is now fixed and my life is back on track. Brilliant, just a shame I had to go through that to begin with!
